Creating Seasonal collections in a Multibrand Store

At Vaatturiliike Sauma, our ready-to-wear collection changes twice a year—spring/summer and fall/winter. But how are these seasonal collections built? Where do the clothes come from, and who makes the decisions?

Sauma is what’s known as a multibrand store, meaning we offer carefully curated pieces from a variety of brands. Our buyers travel to trade fairs and private showrooms to view collections from our suppliers—often as much as six months before the garments reach our store.

Some collections come with fixed styles, from which we select our seasonal favorites. Other brands take a more open approach: they provide a selection of fabrics and allow us to create nearly anything we want. We can match fabrics to models, tweak details, and make garments truly unique. This freedom is both exciting and challenging—something we embrace thanks to our strong tailoring background. Our deep understanding of fabrics, fits, and garment construction helps us bring out the best in every piece.

Fun fact: Sometimes, we are the only store in the world to offer a specific style—custom-built just for our collection.

About five months after placing the orders, the garments begin to arrive. It’s a magical time: a vision becomes reality as the new season takes shape piece by piece.

Creating a seasonal collection is a true project. Each season includes hundreds of carefully selected garments. Every single piece has been handpicked by our team to reflect the identity and values of Vaatturiliike Sauma.

We pour our heart, expertise, and enthusiasm into every season. Our goal is simple: to offer you garments that are beautiful, well-made, and worth falling in love with.
