Description
Two jacket in one: wear it long or shorten with snap fasteners. Adjustable hood, secure front zip fastening, and zipped hand pockets. Complete with a pair of functional auxiliary chest compartments, and the C.P. Company Lens detail at the sleeve. Made in Flatt Nylon, a water-resistant woven fabric that is emerized via a high pressure rolling process, for a soft finish that combines with the garment dyeing treatment to produce a faintly washed effect.
An emerized - or sanded - nylon. Emerizing is the process of passing a fabric through gigantic rollers of emery paper (emery paper is like sand paper but finer and more resilient). The resulting fabric is softer and has a matt finish, similar to any fabric that has been been worn and washed many times.
The emerizing process on synthetic fibres has its roots in the very first American field jackets which used the reverse side of a sateen weave because it was less shiny and therefore less visible.
